Butterbur extract is rich in Petasin and isopetasin. Randomised, double-blind, placebo controlled studies on the prophylactic use of petasin (Int J Clinical Pharmacology, May 2000) reported significant beneficial effects. Take 1 Butterbur Petasin capsule 3 times daily with meals for the first month then 1 capsule twice daily thereafter.
