Obesity is becoming a major problem in the UK and we are fast catching up with our American cousins. A solution to this problem is needed, and fast. It has been proven that low carbohydrate diets are an effective way of losing weight, but these types of diets do not encourage healthy eating habits and are often substituted with high fat foods. A diet with a high amount of fat is obviously not conducive to weight loss. They are also difficult to maintain due to the number of foods that are denied and are part of our everyday lifestyle, such as breads, pasta, potatoes, rice and alcohol. These make it all the more difficult to succeed.
White Kidney Bean Extract - Phaseolamin - suppresses the production of amylase in your saliva and as a result you digest much less of the starch in your food. Just take one or two tablets before each starch based meal (potatoes, pasta, bread, rice or corn) and feel the difference.
If you are eating just one or two starch based meals per day as part of a calorie controlled diet one pack should last 30 days. The absolute maximum dosage is 6 per day (2 tablets per meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner.)
THE FIVE BIG DIFFERENCES OF PHASE 2
1. This is the first non-denial weight program. You can eat a normal amount of food without assimilating all the calories
Eliminating starch calories allows consumption of relatively more calories from proteins, fats and sugars
You can eat satisfying meals rather than low-calorie, low-carb diet foods that often taste like "rabbit food"
2. This is the first no-hunger weight program. Abdominal fullness, caused by calorie-neutralised starchy foods, activates the "stretch receptors" in the stomach that help turn off physical hunger
Insulin stability, achieved by blocking starch calories, stops blood sugar and insulin swings and the hunger they cause
Being able to freely enjoy delicious starchy foods-and to add some non-starch calories-eliminates psychological hunger
3. This is the first weight program that safely directs the body to burn stored fat. Unlike low-calorie diets, this new strategy doesn't break down muscle tissue by restricting protein, and it doesn't starve the body of other necessary nutrients
Unlike low-carbohydrate diets, it doesn't call for abundant consumption of high fat foods, which can hurt health
Unlike low-fat diets, it doesn't call for high intake of carbohydrates, which can disrupt insulin stability
This approach makes the body more efficient in the way body fat is burned when exercising. It supercharges exercise by reducing stored carbohydrates, which the body must deplete before it can burn body fat
4. This is the first weight management approach that appears capable of relieving complications from diabetes. This strategy can help to arrest some of the symptoms of diabetes
This strategy has been shown to control the precursor conditions of diabetes, including hypoglycemia, hyperglycemia and Syndrome X
5. This is the first weight management program that has neither physical nor psychological side effects. It doesn't employ general stimulants, metabolic stimulants or appetite suppressants
It doesn't raise cholesterol or other blood fats, as do some low-carb, high fat diets
It doesn't destabilise insulin levels, as do some low-fat, high-carb diets
It has been certified 100% free of physical side effects by researchers employed by the National Institute of Health in America
It doesn't contribute to a psychological sense of deprivation
It can actually improve mood chemistry by stopping the blood sugar and hormonal fluctuations that cause mood swings
What is Phase 2?
What if we could vastly reduce the number of carbohydrates we absorb, whilst still enjoying our favourite foods? Well, now we can! Thirty years of scientific studies have proved that Phaseolamin (Phase 2) has the ability to neutralise starch calories in our food. These starch blockers are a natural, partial protein derived from white kidney beans. When taken just before a meal, Phase 2 selectively joins with alpha amylase, which is the enzyme responsible for digesting starch. This action temporarily disables the enzyme, making it unable to break down starch for about an hour. This is enough time to enable up to three quarters of the starch eaten to pass through the digestive system without releasing any calories. The starch blocker only neutralises starch, so all the other valuable nutrients contained within starchy foods are absorbed as normal. The majority of people's food intake contains about one quarter to one third of starch, so 25% to 33% of total caloric intake can be neutralised. For example, if you ate 1125 starch calories in one day, by using Phase 2 the amount absorbed would only be 281 calories. Absorbing 844 calories less than you need per day would mean a sensible, healthy weight loss of 1-11/2 pounds per week.
How does it "supercharge" exercise?
Some studies have shown that you do not need to exercise to lose weight when taking Phase 2, but it does have a number of other benefits besides being generally fit. However, exercise becomes supercharged when using Phase 2. Whilst exercising, your body uses the easiest energy source first, which is the calories you eat, the burning of body fat is way down on the list of sources. Phase 2 makes exercise more effective by encouraging your body to rely upon body fat as a primary source of fuel. Once the body becomes accustomed to looking for energy from body fat, instead of carbohydrates, it becomes more efficient in its use of exercise. For example, an hour of slow jogging might burn off 2 ounces of body fat, whereas a person taking Phase 2 might burn 3 or more ounces. It is quite common for people that eat a lot of carbohydrates to exercise strenuously on a regular basis and still be overweight. This is because they are burning off carbohydrates rather than body fat which makes exercise almost pointless in the fight to lose weight and can be demoralising when little or no results are being achieved. Two to three weeks after beginning with Phase 2, the body will have begun to turn to fat as one of its main sources of energy and if you do one hour of moderately vigorous exercise every day you can lose a further 1 pound per week. After four months this amounts to 20 pounds of fat.
Why do you feel better with Phase 2 than when on a diet?
One of the most amazing things about the strategy is that it helps give people emotional power over food. By stabilising levels of blood sugar and insulin, starch blockers typically free people from the food cravings and mood swings that may long have dictated their eating habits. This glycemic stabilisation also helps ensure proper production of calming neurotransmitters (such as serotonin) and energising hormones (including norepinephrine). These neurological factors empower the human will tremendously. In addition, people get a terrific psychological lift from being able to eat normal foods in normal amounts. Net result: emotional control over eating habits.
In summation, Phase 2: Dramatically reduces the calories that have been redistributed to the starchy foods segment of the diet
They heighten emotional control over foods by obliterating food cravings and helping stabilise mood chemistry
They supercharge exercise by significantly increasing the body's ability to burn fat through physical activity
